25 years of success and counting

In the late 1990s, Professor August-Wilhelm Scheer, an IT visionary and Chair of the Department of Information Systems at Saarland University, had a vision to better prepare his students for professional life after graduation. He wanted to break down barriers between universities and provide students with access to inter-university courses and learning materials beyond the confines of their own institutions. To make this idea a reality for the first time ever, Prof. Scheer launched the pioneering Winfoline project.  

 

Building on the success of this project, Prof. Scheer founded imc AG in 1997. Leveraging the expertise and knowledge gained from his university work, imc focused on specialising in learning management and aimed to become a leader in the emerging market for elearning.
